books on Santeria/Lukumi, and review Hidden Wisdom, a guide to Western
Esoteric teachings from the editors of Gnosis magazine. |

1) The
Altar of my Soul
More than a simple book
on religion, Dr. Vega's account is a lush, vividly detailed Autobiography
of the life of a Santeria Priestess.

2) The
Osha
The Osha is neither as
well written, nor as informative as Vega's book, although it is often very
entertaining, and the stories of the Orishas make it a worthwhile read.

3) Wisdom
: A Guide to the Western Inner Traditions
 Richard
Smoley and Jay Kinney are best known as the editors of the now defunct Gnosis
magazine. Hidden Wisdom commemorates the end of the magazine's run, and contains
the same subject matter that made the magazine so fascinating- Western Esoteric
spirituality.
